Well, the thing is that they don’t want people to upload their videos on other places. They might be serious. I’ve seen a lot of their trolls, but so far, this is the most serious I’ve seen. And they usually don’t release the episodes later than they have to, so if it’s a troll, then they will release the episode before next week, if there was a Naruto episode this week that is.

Naruto Shippuuden 67 airs on TV in Japan on the 24th of July. Oh dear, another week of no anime release! Bookmark us and drop by again on the 25th for the english subtitled download of Naruto 67!

Dattebayo just thinks they are smart by telling the fans who don’t know the aren’t releasing the episode but the isn’t actually an episode to release, don’t be fooled by the staff of dattebayo just just want to act all important but fact is that they stopped realeasing some other fansite would resume their work and dattebayo prolly won’t want to give up their spotlight and the attention…

what i meant is that if they stopped releasing so other site will take of and do an as good a job as dattebayo did, putting subs on a video isn’t that hard, the translating takes most of the work, but the are prolly tons of people willing to do that

I think many of you are missing the point of their trolling that dattebayo does. Yes it can be frustrating to us when they do that but honestly I would be even more frustrated if I was in their shoes. They work hard take pride in putting together a place were we can get the scanlations for free, and what do we do complain do they ask for money NO do they ask for anything NO they do it for free to help people like us out. Honestly thats first thing they don’t have too they do it and even if somone else could I don’t really give a crap…. they do it for FREE. Yes they get fame from it but really what is that they aren’t even known really. Now who are we to be upset. Secondly, even if we had a logical reason to be upset they could get into trouble or be asked to stop doing what they do for free because people take their subs and upload them to othersites without their permission and that is because some idiots can’t figure out to go to freaking dattebayo and pick it up for free instead. They go to u-tube and such sites I mean comon quit gripping I would honestly be dissapointed if dattebayo did stop subbing but I could actually understand if they did. Why is it that everyone thinks people are replaceable that its all about me now adays instead of you. It just gets me kinda upset.

Ok, one thing’s certain: we’ll watch the Naruto Shippuuden episode 67 on 24th of July.

Lol, I’m so sick of people protecting Dattebayo, yes they do provide us with great translation of naruto when they aren’t obligated in anyway to do so. But I never asked them, nor forced them to do so. They choose themselves to do so…

I have been downloading my episode on my computer for about 2 years from their site, I have never complaint to them and never written an upset mail, what on earth gives them the right to try pull a troll on me? Nor do I think they have to right to tell people not to put their vids on streaming site, I mean they don’t have any legal rights to Naruto in anyway so erm not really up to them to decide if naruto gets put on those sites, what they are doing is illegal because they are distributing a copyrighted product for free…

I don’t love Dattebayo. They produce high quality fansubs and with good timing and thats great but they are assholes to their fans and honestly If i had a choice of choosing between them and anyone else who release Naruto subs at the same time, I would choose someone else. If they quit I will rejoice cause someone else can step up and do it for them and maybe those people can be decent human beings.

There were so many people doing these subs before, starting with Toriyama’s world, ANBU and Aone, then Lunar, or saiyaman, and those are just ones we knew about. The reason dattebayo can treat their fans like shit is because there aren’t other people doing what they do right now. Fuck that they work hard. I don’t feel bad for them. I respect their work but honestly if the net community had enough balls I would say just find subs else where and watch as DB lost all its “loyal” fans.

Effective immediately, we are terminating our subtitling efforts on the “Naruto Shippuuden”. This decision is not up for discussion and not negotiable. You can guess why this is happening, and no, there is nothing you can do about it as there will always be assholes who want to piss in the pot so to speak.

It was a difficult decision, but it had to be done.

It’s really great how you all enjoy whining about a troll that happens all the time, and until you stop whining the trolls will continue. There are those of you who feel DB shouldn’t be trolling, too bad, if you don’t like it, get your subs elsewhere. The site they have belongs to them, you don’t pay a fee to download their work therefor you have no say in what they can or cannot do. On top of it all, get a damn sense of humor.

In all their years of subbing has DB ever “over delayed” a release? At least without warning their viewers it was going to happen? The answer is no. Because of this they have never once “mistreated” their so-called “fans” you get what you want and at a very reasonable time and in great quality.

As for the issue with uploads, anyone who believes DB hasn’t the right to demand their work not be posted other sites is wrong, the work was done by DB therefor it’s up to them what can happen with it, not you. On top of this what they are doing is technically ILLEGAL, so unless you want to PERMANENTLY put an end to DB subbing I suggest you comply with their wishes.

All in all, IF DB has stopped Naruto consider yourselves lucky you have Bleach from them. They really do have very good reason to do so. However, as stated many times on this page it’s a troll, and you will have your beloved Naruto episode next week when it’s released.

Of course they get tons of mails of assholes, but i’m pretty sure they get tons of mails of nice people complementing them and praising them for their work, but it’s human nature to only talk to the fans about the crappy ones…. i’ve got two things to say, everyone seems to be talking about legality, but the fact is everything involved in this is illegal, giving the episodes away for free is illegal, and knowingly downloading those episodes is illegal, so everyone is in the wrong, which means that the only reason dattebayo would have for not wanting people to release their work on other people’s site’s, is because it’s their work, and they don’t want other people getting credit for it

the second thing, is about when, Elric, you siad that there are other subbing sites with less fans, that never pull pranks like dattebayo, the reason is because they have less fans, there aren’t as many people complaining, how many people do you think sent in complaints to dattebayo when their weekly dose of naruto didn’t come out on time, even though it wasn’t supposed to come out, it’s like being poked, the smaller sites, they’ve got a few people poking them, they can endure it, but with dattebayo, cause there is so many people, of course they’re gonna turn round and punch them in the face, there is a limit to tolerance

More fans more complaints, more fans more praise too… It works in both directions
But they are just to big headed to focus on the positive and erm nah it’s not because they don’t want other people taking credit for the work, when you watch it on any streamingsite it will still have DATTEBAYO in the introclip and in the ending…

These are the reasons they gave us in december:
Here’s the issue: Dattebayo translates and subtitles anime, and released the episodes for public download on our website. Lots of well-meaning fans then take these Dattebayo episodes, re-encode / cut them into parts and upload them onto streaming sites like Youtube or Veoh. THIS IS BAD. The reason is not because Dattebayo is stupid or annoying or mean.

It’s disrespectful to the subbers’ wishes, but more importantly,
Fansubbing is not legal, and with the popularity of Naruto/Bleach growing, legitimate companies have licensed them for DVD releases outside of Japan.
That makes fansubbers a target - although Dattebayo makes no money, legally the companies have all the right to shut us down. Because Dattebayo is a prominent fansubbing group, it’s at constant risk and legal threat. When you put videos on Veoh/Youtube, that exposes the group and makes it a big target.

To this end, Dattebayo has politely and repeatedly asked uploaders on many streaming sites to STOP UPLOADING our files. Many people assume that the uploaders have Dattebayo’s permission, but that’s not true. The uploaders have basically ignored all polite requests to stop. With recent changes to Youtube “copyright enforcement” policy, it’s nearly impossible to get Dattebayo material removed once it’s been uploaded, therefore leaving our work in horrible quality for everyone to view.

And according to there last news item: July 18, 2008: Due to continued noncompliance with requests that their work not be uploading to streaming sites, DB once again drops Naruto Shippuuden, this time permanently and for real.

People that are upset tend to complain more than people who are content tend to give praise, and when something like this happens, where it’s a week late because it’s a double, the complaints come en mass, so it’s blindingly obvious that they’re gonna get pissed

I smell a funny feedback forum coming to the DB homepage next week. It’s the irate feedback that makes these kind of trolls work. During Filler arcs I actually look forward to when there’s no Japanese release just to see what DB do about it. The Soul Eater Fakesub was classic and the feedback forums are always a great laugh. :D.

I like how people keep defending DB, its nice to see people who support subbers. But why does the ability to produce a simple translation rather quickly give them the authority to offend and demean other people simply because they can’t speak or write Japanese? Now I understand that they have stopped because they didn’t want their work to be credited to other people, I’m fine with that. They volunteer this service for the fans of the show, and it was much appreciated. What DBs greatest problem is that they make threats and jokes constantly without so much as a grain of respect to the people who have done nothing but appreciate their work. And the basic principle of volunteer work is that respect begets respect. Now I understand that they get rude and silly e-mail, but grow up and use a junk filter and stop whining, there will always be a small percentage (when your work is downloaded hundreds of thousands of times that could be a rather large number) that either don’t like it or have some other reason to complain. Only teenage girls would throw such a tantrum about people not liking them, and I was under the impression that most of those involved in DB were adult males (albeit single males). But in the end people will either move on to other producers or DB will start again with even less respect and support from the shows fans (and even more of that e-mail junk they so abhor and people who post DBs work as their own). I don’t really see this tantrum as any different from the ones before, but if they do start producing again I’ll probably download from them since they do quick and good work. But if not I’ll move on, all it takes to find another producer is a simple google search, because I’m a fan of the show not the volunteers who translate it. And while I appreciate the work they do I don’t deserve ridicule simply because somebody else annoys them. To be honest I think of DB like a bar slut, everybody uses them but nobody respects them or cares what they think.

To Admin: Are you realy that dump that you can’t separate troll from real news… if you read DB post carefully you will see when it was a troll and when they get serious… And i will officially apologize you if i’m wrong but you will look real dumb if there will be no new Naruto episode no 25.07…

LOL wow, can you imagine how dull subbing is, you watch an episode multiple times just to get the translation down. Then you watch it many more times timing the subtitles. even worse then that is if you pause, play, rewind play, and never really watch the episode. Look, trolling is what DB does, I’ve been downloading naruto since epsiode 2, and at that time there where a whole mess of subbers for naruto. I settled on AH for quality and consistency. Also many other translations had horrible tact in smoothing out the edges when something doesn’t translate to english. All you gamers know what i mean, ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US. When DB branched off and i got their hit with my first troll from them. I Still have Gay ******* from outer space. I was the most demeaning thing i had ever seen, and multiplying my surprise and disgust by the number of downloads that tracker had, I had to appreciate the awesome burn on everyone. Subbing is boring monotonous work, Trolling is there way of keeping themselves entertained while they spend a day out of there lives giving us a high quality sub of our anime. Why take it so personally, a week with no naruto means nothing to watch or do that day. any other sub group you would just be bored. DB gives us something every week, whether or not naruto airs. Be thankful that they at least give you something.

To Mithguar: Erm, fact of the matter is there wasn’t a episode to translate and the last time the posted the news that the were halting the translation of Naruto was also on a date when no episode was aired, I think you might be the dumb one, but time will tell…

Besides that DB is not the only team that translates Naruto… (i actually had a respect for ANBU-AONE but not that much for DB) ..

When they are not ready, they get time by making a shippuuden special.
